Reynolds is directly represented within the EEC by Reynolds-Neuerburg, with almost 5.5% of the German market, acquired in the late 1950s. Camel is by far the most successful of the Reynolds brands, both in Germany and in Holland where, up till the end of 1973, it was made under licence by Niemeyer (a company associated through Gallahers of Britain with American Brands). Now Camel is supplied to Holland ex Germany. The Reynolds/ Neuerburg brands include such names as Winston and Reyno (which is SALEM except in name, as the Salem name is owned by Reemtsma in Germany) and some old Neuerburg brands. EEC share: 2.0%.
