1. Improve the CAMEL franchise among young-adult male smokers.
2. Create a strong identification between the CAMEL brands and c the dynamic image of GT road racing.
3. Generate Sales and trade interest in heavily promoting the CAMEL brands at retail.
1. Target all marketing efforts against young adult males.
2. Feature CAMEL FILTER as the primary brand behind the racing program.
3. Develop programs (both advertising and sales promotion) for national and local support of the GT sponsorship.
4. Develop a strong P.R. program on a local and national basis in support of the GT sponsorship.
1. Protection of the CAMEL equity is contingent upon developing a strong franchise among young-adult male smokers. The CAMEL GT CHALLENGE program provides an excellent vehicle within which to pursue efforts against this target group.
2. Local advertising, sales promotion, and P.R. efforts will serve to strengthen CAMEL FILTER'S identity with GT road racing and will serve to increase attendance at CAMEL GT CHALLENGE events. This will help insure the continued growth and popularity of this new series among both promoters and spectators.
3. National advertising, sales promotion and P.R. efforts will provide outreach to the program broadening awareness and impact of our association with this dynamic, masculine sport.

I Background
The CAMEL GT CHALLENGE schedule will include up to 20 races in ???éČ??3, of which half will be sponsored by CAMEL in order to maintain our position of dominant sponsorship of the program.
Points Funds/Purses;
The prestigiousness of the CAMEL GT CHALLENGE program to the racing community and to our target market must in part be a function of the dollar value of points funds and race purses. It is recommended that points funds and race purses be increased in ???éČ??3 in order to (1) increase the prestige value of the series, (2) maintain driver/owner interest and obtain "name" drivers for the series.
Entrants Points Fund - Increase from $10,000 to $14,000 to assure that high quality cars enter races throughout the series (money awarded by class).
Drivers Points Fund - Increase from $7,500 to $10,000 to reward top drivers for remaining with the series throughout the year (money awarded to the top four drivers as follows: 1st place - $5,000, 2nd place - $2,500, 3rd place - $1,500, 4th place - $1,000.
Purses - Increase RJR contribution to purses for 6 sponsored races to $10,000 each. Increase RJR contribution for 4 additional sponsored races (long-distance) to $12,500 each. Total cost of purses under this allocation is $110,000. If the final schedule results in less than 10 sponsored races, consideration should be given to increasing the purses of long-distance races to $15,000 each.
Silver plated bronze medallions will be awarded to the overall winners, and antique bronze medallions will be awarded to the class winners for each race. End-of-the-year medallions will be made of gold and silver (for overall and class winners respectively). Total cost of medallions is estimated at $4,000 for the series.
