Questions - Answers
Excerpts from General Information Reference Manual
Consumer Information Center
Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation,
CAPRI (CAPRI/Price Too High & Tobacco General Questions)
"Does CAPRI have the SAME AMOUNT OF TOBACCO in it that other cigarettes do?"
Although CAPRI is slimmer than regular circumference cigarettes, it has been our experience that its patented design makes CAPRI smoke just as long as regular circumference cigarettes of the same length while delivering equal or better smoking satisfaction.
CLASS A CIGARETTES (Class A-Cigt Definition)
"What are Class A cigarettes?"
"Class A Cigarettes" is in fact a definition developed by the federal government for taxation purposes. Most cigarettes in the United States are classified as "Class A" cigarettes.
"What NAME-BRAND IS COMPARABLE to ABC cigarette?" (Brand name) should not be compared to another Brown & Williamson product. I can assure you that we give the same attention to, and high standard of quality for every product we manufacture.
DIRECT BUYING (Buy Direct-Comp-Can't Find)
"Can I buy direct?"
We sell our entire product line through a network of wholesalers and retailers. If you'll give me your rip code, I can look up a list of retailers near you and let our sales force know of your interest in buying (brand name).
EPA/GOVERNMENT STUDIES (Gov't Intervention-Comp & Smokers' Rights)
"What scientific process/procedures do government researchers use to come up with their findings for GOVERNMENT GENERATED REPORTS such as the EPA study?"
The EPA report was a risk assessment study. We believe that the EPA report improperly manipulated the statistical data for the human populations it used. To give just two of several reasons, two-thirds of the statistical studies used in the report did not support the agency's conclusion about ETS (Environmental Tobacco Smoke), and none of the research showed that the conditions studied were not caused by some other factor.
