Rothmans - Key Markets

???ぎ?? South Africa - overall shims was flat in 1996 with the gains in Peter Stuyvesant offset by the decline of Rothmans.

???ぎ?? Malaysia - all growth was derived from Dunhill, in particular the 14's and 7's versions.

???ぎ?? Germany - Lord, Rothmans biggest brand on the market, declined by 7.4% in 1996. The only brands to show growth were relatively small (Commodore and Rothmans).

???ぎ?? France - Peter Stuyvesant and Golden American declines were more than offset by gains in Rothmans and Winfield 30's. In 1997, Winfield (the lowest priced brand on the market on a price per stick basis) has sharply increased its market share.

???ぎ?? Australia - key gains made by Holiday and Freedom grew and Winfield declined.

???ぎ?? Russia - Rothmans, Rothmans Pall Mall and Dunhill sales were estimated to be up in 1996, but local brands declined.

???ぎ?? Pakistan - Morven was sharply down in 1996, offsetting the gains made by Royals and Lord.

???ぎ?? UK - all of Rothmans brands lost share in 1996, although sales of Rothmans Royals were marginally up.

???ぎ?? Canada - Canadian Classics increased share to 03% in 1996, whilst all other brands were either static or declining.

???ぎ?? Nigeria - Rothmans became the leading company in the market in 1996, overtaking British American Tobacco with sharply increased imports of Rothmans King Size and London.
