Reemtsma's sales were up by 33% to an estimated 94 bn in 1996. Profits (in ?‚?? Sterling terms) are estimated to be up by 13% to ?‚??170 mn. In Germany, sales were down by 0.6% in 1996. Internationally, sales were up by an estimated 5.4% to 63 bn fuelled primarily by gains in Eastern Europe.
???‚¬?? West - increased sales in Germany, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Poland. Reemtsma entered Formula One with the brand, sponsoring the McLaren Team for the 1997 season. Reemtsma recently announced plans to launch West into China to target the ASU 30 segment
???‚¬?? Davidoff - made further progress in Taiwan with sales up by 39% to 4.4 bn in 1996. Advances were also made in Russia, Germany, Azerbaijan and Hong Kong.
???‚¬?? Peter Stuyvesant - Reemtsma own the rights to this brand in Germany and Austria - sales continue to decline in both markets.
